Who am I? |

Who am I?Hi, My name is Brian Venten. Originally from Melbourne, and now living in North Queensland. I am currently working in the building industry based at Collinsville, Queensland in the Whitsundays, and am available to perform ceremonies including weddings, renewal of vows, funerals and baby naming throughout the Townsville and Whitsunday regions. For many years I worked in an educational and people serving role and more recently in various hands on management roles within the building industry. I have a Bachelor of Theology, am a registered Civil Marriage Celebrant, Commissioner for Declarations and also pursuing studies to enrich my capacity to serve people in my role as a celebrant.

Family and Social Interests...Outside of work commitments and civil celebrant engagements, I am a father of three adult children and also enjoying being a 'Grand Pop' as well. Spare time is devoted to the hobby of playing music and song writing in what I call 'the traditional Australian style'. Whenever possible, each Easter I attend the National Folk Festival held in Canberra, ACT. and the Nariel Creek, holiday festival held each Christmas near Corryong in northern Victoria. We also spend as much time as we can sailing around the Whitsundays in our yacht Papillon.

Choosing a celebrant... How do people go about choosing a celebrant? That's a really good question and I think, in a general sense, it must be a tough call for couples, families or individuals to make that decision. Maybe it has to do with having a sense of 'connection' with a person, or perhaps something about the 'presence' of a person and their ability to carry themselves well. Maybe it has to do with feeling 'personally valued' by the celebrant. I often reflect on this subject as no doubt you have.... hopefully my celebrant services will meet your needs. |
